Main features of Egyptian Civilization
1.Nile River Dependency:
The Nile River Was not just a geographical feature but the lifeblood of ancient Egypt. Its annual flooding deposited nutrient-rich silt, creating fertile soil for agriculture. Egyptians developed sophisticated irrigation techniques, such as canals and levees, to control the floodwaters and maximize agricultural output.
2. Pyramids and Monuments
The construction of monumental structures like the pyramids of Giza required immense resources, organization, and skilled labor. Egyptians developed mathematical concepts like arithmetic geometry, and algebra to solve practical problems like land measurement and construction. They also studied the movements of celestial bodies, developing a calendar based on the lunar and solar cycles and using astronomical observations for religious and agricultural purposes.
