Mental Health:-
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
It is an integral component of health and well-being that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in. Mental health is a basic human right. And it is crucial to personal, community and socio-economic development.
According to World Health Organization (WHO),
“Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community.”
Hadfield (1952) stated that
“mental health is the full and harmonious functioning of the whole personality.”
Crow and Crow. (1951) defined
“Mental health is the state that deals with human welfare and persuades all fields of human. relations”.
According to Kuppuswami,
“Mental health means the ability to balance feelings, desires, ambitions and ideals to one’s daily life. It means the ability to face and accept the reality of life.”
